XAYACATL is a contemporary sculptural mask inspired by the symbolic and ceremonial role of masks in Mesoamerican cultures.
The work reinterprets the human face through a parametric process, transforming recognizable facial features into a layered geometric structure. Rather than reproducing a traditional mask, XAYACATL explores the idea of identity through abstraction, repetition, and controlled deformation.
Its geometry moves between the figurative and the architectural: the face remains perceptible, while the surface becomes a system of lines, planes, and intersecting forms generated through digital design.
The piece creates a dialogue between ancestral references and contemporary computational processes, using geometry as a means of translating memory, ritual, and identity into a new sculptural language.
