Tetlazotlani (Lovers) is a sculptural study of intimacy, balance, and duality, inspired by pre-Hispanic form and symbolic union. The piece is composed of two interrelated torsos oriented in different directions, suggesting both individuality and emotional connection.
Each torso is constructed from four identical elements called Siluetas, rotated and assembled to generate the flowing curves and volumetric continuity of the bodies. Through repetition and transformation, a single module becomes a complex architectural figure, revealing how form can evolve through geometry, rhythm, and variation.
The image emphasizes the tactile quality of the sculpture: soft light, deep shadows, and subtle surface texture reinforce its carved presence and the quiet tension between symmetry and movement. At once abstract and figurative, Tetlazotlani explores love as structure, as dialogue, and as a shared act of becoming.
Printed on 315 gsm Cold Press Watercolour Paper, the textured matte surface enhances the tonal depth and sculptural detail of the image while preserving its fine-art character.
