OZTOTL II, Cavity Study

OZTOTL II opens a single, wide aperture in the surface and lets the eye descend. Beneath a suspended, folded plane, a sequence of chambers unfolds: walls in successive grays, a darker room beyond, stepped plates along the edge that suggest a passage going further down. Here the depth is calmer and more spatial than in OZTOTL I; light enters from above and slides along the walls, measuring the interior through shadow alone. A study of how a cut becomes a threshold, and a threshold becomes a place.

Printed on 315 gsm Cold Press Watercolour Paper, the textured matte surface gives the image a tactile, fine-art character while preserving subtle tonal transitions and intricate detail. A white border surrounds the image like a mat, ready to frame.
